5 Reasons why your Resume is Important:

I always say that your resume is your virtual first impression, just like an in-person first impression you want to make it a lasting one. Employers use a candidate's resume to weed out unqualified candidates for advertised positions. Those who want to make themselves seem more viable for a position, a well-crafted resume should immediately demonstrate your suitability for a position. If you are still not sold on why your resume is important, check out these five reasons.

A great resume:

  • Grabs the attention of employers and recruiters

  • Sells your strongest skills and accomplishments

  • Shows how you’re a match for a position or project

  • And most importantly, it gets you a job interview!

1. It's your first impression:

I know I said this 20 before but IDC, I had to say it louder for those in the back that still can't hear me. Your resume is your first impression. You want to be seen as the BEST candidate for any position you apply for. A well-crafted resume will do this for you.

2. A Summary of Your Qualifications:

As an employer/ recruiter I want to know what makes you think that you should be considered for the opportunity at hand. Your resume gives a brief insight into what your experience has been in the workforce. You should describe your experience in great detail even the aspects of the job you think are small. Be transparent well, we are all human.

3. Describes your Education and Accomplishments :

It is 2020, your experience Is not going to be the same as everyone else's. Not everyone has had the chance to go to University. Some knowledge is experienced-based. We should understand that. There is a way to explain this for others to understand your background.

4. Relevant Skills:

The world is ever-changing, in all aspects, there are always new skills to be learned.

It’s important to note that, skills are extremely appreciated by employers. Your resume is the perfect place to showcase that.

5. Gets you an Interview:

You know in OG Gangster movies always have the scene where they invite someone new in their crew. Someone vouches for you and you're in. Think of your resume as that encounter, someone throwing a head nod to the Boss solidifying you are who you say you are. Most of the time your resume is going to go through a couple of hands, with the last will be the "Boss" but before it gets there someone has to see something. When I say something, I mean something that sets you apart from other candidates and makes your resume worthy of presenting it to the Boss. Impression Creative Co. can help.

Having an attractive and professional resume can change a lot for you. You can increase your chances of getting an interview, just by having a well-crafted resume. Remember these reasons mentioned above when you think about creating your resume.
